Big Life Update: Moving On from CarMax After 8.5 Years

Yesterday marked a huge milestone in my life—I officially put in my four-week notice at CarMax after more than 8 and a half years. This decision wasn’t made lightly, but I’m incredibly excited to announce that I’ve accepted a new position as a Glass Technician with Glass Doctor in Ottawa, Illinois.

In this new role, I’ll be repairing and replacing automotive windshields while working with an expanding and growing company. Glass Doctor serves the Illinois Valley and Chicago Land area dealerships, and I’m thrilled to be a part of their journey as they continue to grow.

This opportunity offers a significant chance to better my life financially and professionally, which has been a big factor in my decision. After much consideration over the past few weeks, I’ve decided to take this step forward, embracing the opportunities and challenges that come with it.

I want to take a moment to reflect on my time with CarMax. It’s hard to put into words how much this company has meant to me over the years. I’ve spent almost all of my 20s working there, and it’s been such an honor to build meaningful connections with the incredible people I’ve met along the way.

From coworkers who became lifelong friends to the countless memories we’ve shared, I’ll forever cherish the time I’ve spent at CarMax. It’s been an amazing ride, and I’m so grateful for everything this chapter of my life brought me.

Now, as I head into my 30s, I’m ready to embrace this exciting new transition. I’m looking forward to new experiences, new challenges, and new opportunities with Glass Doctor. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way—I’m so grateful for all of you.
